Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves is a professional baseball team based in the Atlanta metropolitan area, competing in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a National League (NL) East division member club. The team was founded in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1871 under Boston Red Stockings. Over the years, the team underwent various name changes until it finally settled on the Boston Braves in 1912. The Braves hold the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating professional sports franchise in North America.
