Yankees
The New York Yankees is a professional baseball team from America in the borough of the Bronx in New York City. They are a part of the American League (AL) East division and compete in Major League Baseball (MLB). The Yankees are one of the two major league clubs based in New York City, along with the National League's (NL) New York Mets. The team was established in 1903 when Frank Farrell and Bill Devery bought the franchise rights of the defunct Baltimore Orioles and used them to create the New York Highlanders. The Highlanders were officially renamed the New York Yankees in 1913.
